Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific

HP17_0001_r3_crop

Take a trip to exotic locals with Aveda’s new Pure-fume Hair Mists, inspired by the worlds’ enchanted places to transport your senses. These fabulous scents don’t just make your hair smell terrific, they also add softness and shine. Aveda’s master perfumers blended these aromas to capture the distinctive spirit of the places they represent.

Mihana™
Inspired by a lush, Asian oasis, Mihana™ is a spicy floral aroma with soft balsamic and bright citrus notes with jasmine, certified organic mandarin, clove, and other pure flower and plant essences.

Alanara™
This rich, extravagant, “oriental” aroma gets its inspiration from the glittering lights of Dubai, and is reminiscent of the exotic spices, moist rosy florals, and precious incense of the Middle East, using pure flower and plant essences, including certified organic rose, oud, and olibanum and more.

Marassona™
The beauty of Brazil is the inspiration behind this aroma, created as a clean, fresh citrus aroma with a seductive white floral heart to embody the dynamic spirit of Brazil by using certified organic neroli, lemon, ylang ylang, and other pure flower and plant essences.

They’re all so luscious, we can’t decide which one we like the most! Try them on when you come to visit us next and see which aroma enchants you!

Head’s Up!

Warning! There has been a change to the entrance of the parking lot to the west of our building.

File Jul 18, 3 14 14 PM

The entrance to the parking lot has moved! Don’t let it catch you by surprise.  There’s a curb and sidewalk where the driveway used to be.

Rather than turning into the parking lot from Douglas, the entrance to the lot by our big mural has moved to Emporia Street.  The driveway is toward the back of the lot, so just make a U-turn after you enter to get to our spaces. The City of Wichita has changed this to make the intersection safer for pedestrians and to help traffic flow.

Awaken Your Scalp!

Are you a fan of non-wash days and dry shampoo? Do you hit the gym or the pool every day? Do you use plenty of hairspray or other product to keep your ‘do in the Kansas wind? Do you hate wearing dark colored clothing, because it shows off pesky dandruff flakes?

Then before you shampoo, cleanse your scalp with Aveda’s new Pramasana to remove build up from styling products, sweat, pollution and more. It’s like a detox for your scalp!

Beautiful hair is rooted in your scalp. The three steps of the Pramasana scalp treatment give a strong foundation for beautiful hair.

Start with the new Pramasana Exfoliating Scalp Brush.RitualPramasana

Next, cleanse your scalp with Pramasama Scalp Cleanser.

PShampoo
Deeply, yet gently cleanses and purifies the scalp to help instantly balance sebum levels, while it exfoliates and removes pollution – creating a clean scalp foundation for beautiful hair. Scalp is left invigorated and refreshed.

Then, follow up with Pramasana Protective Scalp Concentrate.

PProtect
Helps balance sebum levels to maintain the purity of the scalp at the root of the hair. This lightweight, leave-in treatment penetrates the surface layers of the scalp to nourish and help preserve the scalp’s natural protective barrier, while helping protect the scalp from aggressors such as pollution and other free radicals. Leaves the scalp nourished, soothed and feeling comfortable all day.

Want to try it for yourself? Ask you stylist for a complimentary scalp assessment during your next appointment!

Planet Hair Honored by SALON TODAY MAGAZINE

2017-salon-today-200We are overjoyed that for the tenth year, Planet Hair has been honored by SALON TODAY Magazine as one of the fastest growing salons in the United States!

This year marks the 20th year this leading salon industry publication has honored salons for their best business practices and growth. The January/February 2017 edition profiled the winning salons, which were chosen from applications submitted by SALON TODAY readers, representing the 20,000 top-producing salons and spas in the country.

“It means so much to us that we’re still being honored for business growth in our 25th year in business,” says co-owner Linda Ernst. “Thanks to our incredible staff and loyal clients for helping us achieve this amazing honor. We couldn’t have done it without you!”

Congrats Suzie!

suzieclassWe are proud to announce that Suzie has been accepted into the Aveda Color Educator program! For the next year, Suzie will attend extra Aveda color classes, help assist other educators in the area and teach classes for our team to become a certified Aveda Salon Color Educator.

“I’ve always wanted to teach,” says Suzie. “My mother was a teacher and I went to college for an Art Education degree, so this is perfect! I’m so excited to mentor new stylists to share the same joy I take in doing color services.”

No need to worry that Suzie’s new adventure will take her away from her work with our guests. While she does plan to teach color classes in the area, Suzie believes this experience will help her grow as a stylist to do even better work.

“My first passion is hair and taking care of our guests,” explained Suzie. “I feel lucky to be able to explore my passion for teaching now too.” We think we’re the lucky ones!
