ArtAID 18 a Super Star Success

ArtAID 18 Hollywood LightsThanks to everyone who helped make ArtAID 18-Hollywood Lights a huge success.  Moving the show from The Cotillion proved to be a big success, raising an amazing $115,000 for Positive Directions through ticket sales, silent and live art auctions. This money will help Positive Directions with the resources they need to continue to provide quality support, housing, and meal services to their growing client base of people living in our community with HIV and AIDS.

Our staff, volunteers, sponsors, art contributors, guest artists, dancers, and models did an incredible job entertaining over 1,000 people at Century II on October 13th. If you missed this year’s event, stop by the salon and see the video of our breathtaking fashion show for yourself.

Know as one of the most fun parties of the year, the ArtAID event fuses silent and live art auctions with an extravagant runway fashion show to raise money for charity. The event incorporates the generosity of contributing artists and collectors and the talent of local and national dancers, musicians, models and actors to present an evening that’s entertaining and breathtakingly beautiful.

Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 at the door, and are available at Planet Hair (504 East Douglas), Bluebird Arthouse (924 West Douglas) and Positive Directions (414 South Commerce). Don’t forget our free Art Preview Party on Wednesday, October 10th from 5 pm until 9 pm at Pale Divers Studio/Harris and Company Framing Studio at 424 South Commerce.  Come see the artwork that will be auctioned off at ArtAID and pick out your favorites for bidding!

You Look Like a Model!

We’re looking for men and women models for our Hollywood Lights runway show for ArtAID 18.  If you’re You could be a modelinterested drop by our model call on Sunday, August 26th from 1 pm until 3 pm or Monday, August 27th from 6 pm until 8 pm here at Planet Hair.

We’re looking for models, who are at least 18 years old, with or without modeling experience.  Some dance experience is helpful. Questions? Call (316) 267-8000.

Attention Dancers!

ArtAID dancersWe’re looking for dancers and acrobats for the infamous ArtAID 18 runway show! To participate you must come to the audition and be available all evening on Friday, October 12th and all day until 11:30 pm on Saturday, October 13th for rehearsals and the show.

Dance Audition
The dance audition will be held on Sunday, August 26th at 7 pm sharp at Care to Dance, located at 1019 West Douglas in Wichita. We’ll start by teaching you a routine that you’ll perform for the audition.

We’re looking for performers that can dance any style like contemporary, modern, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, pop-n-lock, break dance, swing and Adagio. We’re also looking for dance team dancers, dancers with partnering experience and roller skaters.

Acrobatic Audition
The acrobatic audition will be held on Sunday, August 26th at 4:30 pm sharp at Skywalkers, located at 3967 N. Woodlawn Court in Wichita.

We’re looking for gymnasts, tumblers, cheerleaders, acrobats, aerialists and specialty acts.

Art 4 Life will have lots of entertainment from the minute you walk in the door until you leave. Dancers, music, artists and performers of all kinds will keep you entertained throughout the evening. Don’t miss your chance to bid on incredible art in the live and silent art auctions; enjoy delicious food at food stations around the Cotillion and don’t miss the musical/dance revue “Burlesco” featuring Christi Moore, Monte Wheeler, Kyle Vespestad, Karen Robu, Adina Ronee the Wichita Burlesque Co. and more than 30 dancers!

“We want Art 4 Life to be all the fun of ArtAID but it’s going to be different with some fun surprises”, said James Woods, co-chairperson of Art 4 Life and Office Manger with Positive Directions, “We’re looking forward to the ArtAID Runway Show coming back in 2012, but in the meantime, we want everyone to have fun at Art 4 Life!”

ArtAID 17 – Sideshow Sets New Record!

ArtAID17 set new recordsThanks to everyone who helped make ArtAID 17-Sideshow a huge success.  The biggest year in the history of ArtAID, we helped raise an amazing $115,000 for Positive Directions through ticket sales, silent and live art auctions, and the pre-event Cocktail Party. This incredible 25 percent increase over last year’s event will help Positive Directions with the resources they need to continue to provide quality support, housing, and meal services to their growing client base of people living in our community with HIV and AIDS.

Our staff, sponsors, art contributors, guest artists, dancers, and models did an incredible job entertaining a nearly sold out audience at the Cotillion on October 9th. If you missed this year’s event, stop by the salon and see the video of our breathtaking fashion show for yourself.
